About Scottsdale

Scottsdale, Arizona sits in the northeast corner of the Valley of the Sun and is home to roughly 240,000 residents across ZIP codes 85250 through 85268. The city stretches more than 30 miles north-to-south, from the Old Town district up through McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Grayhawk, DC Ranch, Troon, and into the high desert at Pinnacle Peak. Pool ownership is among the highest of any city in the U.S.; backyard swimming pools sit on the majority of single-family lots, and they get used.

Scottsdale's climate is technically a hot desert climate (Köppen BWh). Summer highs average 105°F with stretches above 115°F, the monsoon season from July through September dumps dust and organic debris into open pools overnight, and winter water temperatures still permit year-round swimming with a heater. High evaporation, hard water, and high pH can accelerate algae growth, which is a common cause of green pool water and can quickly throw off chlorine demand. All of which means Scottsdale pool service isn't a seasonal trade here. It's year-round, every week, no exceptions.

Municipal water in Scottsdale draws primarily from the Central Arizona Project (CAP), which delivers Colorado River water across the state. CAP water is naturally high in calcium hardness and total dissolved solids, which is why pool plaster waterlines scale, heater elements calcify, and salt-cell plates need acid bathing more often than national averages. Our weekly pool service includes calcium and TDS monitoring with adjustments to prevent the scaling before it forms and help manage evaporation-related chemistry swings.

What Sets MAKO Apart for Scottsdale Pools

Mako Pool Solutions has been running pool service in Scottsdale, AZ since 1998. A few things matter more here than they do elsewhere. Same technician every week: rotating crews miss the small stuff that only shows up when you know a particular pool.

Real chemical testing, not test strips: in this water, the difference between 70 and 220 ppm calcium hardness is the difference between a heater that lasts 15 years and one that lasts 7, and regular service and inspection help prolong equipment life, maintain performance, and catch issues before failures turn costly. A full equipment-pad walk on every visit: pump prime, filter PSI, heater status, salt cell condition, valve operation, visible leaks, and signs that point to leak detection or plumbing repairs all checked before we leave.

For repairs and installs, we handle the full equipment pad: pool equipment repair, pump repairs and filter servicing, gas heater repair and maintenance to help prevent ignition failures and sensor errors, pool automation upgrades, salt systems, and equipment installation, plus green pool recovery. In Scottsdale, harsh water conditions make pumps and filters worth regular inspection, and equipment replacement can range from $1,200 to $8,500. As a Pentair Certified Dealer we install and warranty qualifying Pentair equipment with a 3-year parts-and-labor backing. One team, one phone number, one bill.

Accurate diagnostics determine the right fix, DIY pool repair often leads to repeat problems, and our technicians use the correct tools and knowledge to keep downtime low and prevent further damage.

We specialize in careful equipment work with an efficient approach, take pride in the finish, and focus on quality that holds up in Scottsdale.
