Mako Pool Solutions started in 1998 when Joel Broersma set out to build a pool company that did things differently. No shortcuts. No corners cut. Just honest, thorough care for every pool we touch.
We're a family-owned business, and that shows in how we work. We treat our customers like family and every pool as if it were our own. When we're at your home, we're not just checking boxes. We're making sure your water is right, your equipment is running properly, and your pool is ready when you want to use it.
From weekly maintenance to equipment repair and green pool recovery, we've been serving Scottsdale, Cave Creek, and Carefree for over 28 years. We're here because we love what we do, and we take pride in doing it well.
The company is built around routes rather than dispatch. The same technician services your pool every week, which sounds like a small operational detail and is the single thing that most changes the outcome. Someone who has seen your pump prime forty times knows when it sounds wrong. Someone sent out once does not.
Every visit starts with a real water test rather than a dipped strip. We read pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, free chlorine, cyanuric acid and total dissolved solids using Taylor reagent kits or a LaMotte spin photometer. Strips drift quickly in Arizona heat and they do not measure stabilizer accurately, which is the one number that predicts how the following week will go.
You get a written service report after every visit with the readings, what was adjusted, and any equipment notes. If something on the pad is developing into a problem, you hear about it the day we see it rather than the week it fails.
Mako is a Pentair Certified Dealer. In practical terms that means we can install and warranty qualifying Pentair equipment with three-year parts-and-labour backing, and that we have direct access to Pentair's technical documentation and parts channel rather than working from guesswork on their systems.
It does not mean we only work on Pentair. We service Hayward, Jandy, Raypak, Sta-Rite, Polaris and a good deal of equipment older than any of those. When a replacement genuinely beats a repair we say so and show the arithmetic, and when it does not, we say that too. Most of what we see is repairable equipment rather than equipment at the end of its life.
We do weekly pool service, equipment repair across pumps, filters and heaters, automation installs and programming, and green pool recovery. Installation work sits alongside each of those.
We do not do pool construction, resurfacing, tile or decking. There are companies that do those things properly and we are not one of them, so we will point you at one rather than take the work.
The service area is Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Carefree, and we have kept it deliberately tight. A wider map would mean longer drives, later arrivals and a technician who is a stranger to your equipment. If you are outside it, we would rather tell you that on the phone than sell you a route slot we cannot serve well.
Everything factual published on this site comes from one source file rather than being retyped page to page, and the build fails if a page contradicts it. That covers the phone number, the hours, the service area, the founding year and every price. It is why you will not find the same figure quoted two different ways in two places.
The reviews on this site are transcribed verbatim from our Google Business Profile, with real names and real dates. We publish no aggregate rating and no review count, because we have four written reviews and inventing a larger number is exactly the kind of thing this section exists to rule out. If a review needs changing, it gets changed on Google, not here.
Prices shown are starting points for a standard residential pool and are quoted properly after a free assessment. Where an article gives a number, it is either a figure from this site or a range we have actually seen in the field, and where we do not know, we say we do not know.
If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date, or that does not match what we told you in person, call (623) 388-7069 or email mako@makopoolsolutions.com and we will correct it. Pages carry a "last reviewed" date at the foot so you can see when we last checked them.
