Mako Pool Solutions has been running pool service in Scottsdale and across the north Valley since 1998. Joel Broersma started the company on one route with a rule we still work by: the same technician services your pool every week, learns its quirks, and flags what's changing before it turns into a repair bill.

We've kept that radius deliberately tight. A smaller map means we're a short drive from your equipment pad when a pump quits on a Friday afternoon, and it means the technician on your route this week is the one who was there last week.

Why a Pool Here Is a Different Job

Pool care in the Sonoran Desert isn't the same work it is in a temperate climate, and the difference isn't effort. It's chemistry. At the surface temperatures we see through the summer, free chlorine can be effectively gone within 24 to 48 hours of being added, because UV breaks it down faster here than almost anywhere in the country. Cyanuric acid is what slows that down, and it degrades under the same sun that's eating the chlorine. That's the whole reason a 14-day service interval that works in Ohio doesn't hold here in July.

Then there's the water itself. Most municipal supply in the Valley arrives through the Central Arizona Project carrying high calcium and total dissolved solids, and summer evaporation concentrates both. Left alone, that calcium comes out of solution onto the things you least want it on: the heat exchanger inside your heater, the plates of a salt cell, the plaster at the waterline. Add monsoon storms dumping organic debris into open water from July through September, and you have three separate problems that all get managed at the same weekly visit or not at all.

The Equipment We Actually Work On

We're a Pentair Certified Dealer, which lets us install and warranty qualifying Pentair equipment with 3-year parts-and-labor backing. In practice we service whatever is on your pad: Pentair IntelliFlo and IntelliCenter, Hayward OmniLogic, Jandy iAqualink, Raypak heaters, and plenty of equipment older than any of those. If a replacement genuinely makes more sense than a repair, we'll tell you which and show you the arithmetic.

When weekly service turns something up, we fix it ourselves instead of handing you to a subcontractor. Pump repair, filter repair, heater repair, and automation all happen under the same roof, and so does the wider pool equipment repair work when a problem turns out to be three problems. If a pool has already gone past that point, green pool recovery is its own service and most pools are swim-ready in three to five days.

What It Costs and How Scheduling Works

Weekly pool service starts at $100 a month for a chemicals-only plan on a standard residential pool. Full service, which adds brushing, vacuuming, basket cleaning and debris removal, is quoted on pool size, whether there's a spa or water features, and how much the surrounding landscape drops into the water. Palo verdes and mesquites make a real difference to that number. Recovery work typically runs $300 to $600 depending on how far the pool has gone.

Every quote follows a free assessment. There's no diagnostic fee, no obligation to sign up afterward, and no contract: month-to-month is the standard arrangement, which is how it should be for a service business. We run Monday through Friday, 7AM to 5PM, and most new clients are on a route within a week of the first visit.
